Back in February, I was enjoying a meal with friends at one of my favorite restaurants in Atlantic City and we began discussing the shift in town with regard to fine dining. While A.C.’s struggles are no secret, one thing keeping the casinos afloat is that they have become destinations for gourmands. Folks who don’t gamble regularly have no problem rolling the dice on an unforgettable meal.
By now, you know the big names drawing attention to the scene: Wolfgang, Flay, Garces, to name a few. But, A.C.’s dining scene has become about more than just jaw-dropping restaurants with big ticket names attached. There are plenty of chefs that you don’t know, creating masterful plates just steps away from the casino floor. In an effort to showcase these wonderful eateries, we have chosen what we feel to be the 20 best, including a few on the other side of the bridge that may not be along the shoreline, but are still making plenty of waves.
