Who is a good candidate for an arm lift, and can exercise tighten loose arm skin?
One ofthe most common concerns I hearfrom patients, especially during the summer months, is loose skin on the upper arms that persists despite exercise and a healthy lifestyle. While exercise can strengthen and tone the underlying muscles, it cannottighten significant excess skin.

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, removes excess skin and improves the contour ofthe upper arms. Ideal candidates include individuals who have experienced significant weightloss, age-related skin laxity, or a genetic tendency toward loose arm skin. Recovery is often easierthan patients expect. Early healing typically takes about two weeks, drains are usually notrequired, and most sutures dissolve on their own.

Although an arm lift creates a scar along the underside of the arm, itis generally well-concealed when healed fully.
Not every patientrequires a full arm lift. Depending on the degree of skin laxity, some patients may be candidates for a mini arm lift or skin-tightening procedures such asRenuvion® (helium plasma), and microneedling.

The goal is to create a smoother, more proportional arm contour and help patients feel more confidentin themselves.
