Many people dream of a one-stop destination for beauty and self-care—a place where they can schedule a facial and a hair appointment back-to-back without juggling multiple locations. In downtown Haddonfield, that convenience exists at Skintegrity and Standard Hair Studio, two neighboring businesses owned by husband-and-wife duo Kate and Salvatore Filiberto.
In the seven years since opening Skintegrity, Kate has created a name for herself thanks to her passion and strong desire to help clients achieve their best skin with a variety of services ranging from facials and body waxing to more advanced treatments. Meanwhile, Salvatore has operated his successful salon, Standard Hair Studio, for the past five years, built with a highly educated team that delivers in color, cutting and styling.
The idea for the neighboring businesses presented itself back in 2020 when the pandemic hit, and Salvatore was forced to step away from his chair at the salon where he was working. During this time off, he started to envision opening his own business, and just like that, the space next to his wife’s spa became available.
That fortunate stroke of serendipity is something the couple has embraced ever since.
“Being next door to each other is paramount—we are able to build both businesses side by side with two teams that also function as a cohesive unit for hair and skin services,” Kate says. “We proudly cross-refer clients between Standard and Skintegrity with ease, because while Standard has a vibe and Skintegrity has its own, they are cohesive. We are very proud of that and grateful to the community we serve.”
The close proximity of the two businesses has been a game-changer for clients, allowing them to seamlessly book appointments at both. Clients not only enjoy the full experience of their scheduled service but can also explore additional offerings next door, gaining a better sense of the synergy between the two.
When it comes to services offered, both Kate and Salvatore stress the importance of authenticity and professionalism. “We want value for the client in everything that we do. It’s all about a high-touch experience with services to improve the health of the client’s hair and skin. That is what motivates us when looking into different services to add to our menus,” says Kate.
A recent treatment at Standard Hair Studio that is a staple for clients is their Milbon Smoothing Treatment. This is a three-step, deep-conditioning treatment that rapidly perfects texture, giving the hair a silky-smooth look and feel that is intended for all hair types.
“This is a newer, professional treatment that we do at the shampoo bowl, and it’s an alternative to a keratin treatment. It takes out the frizz, smooths and conditions the cuticle, but it’s not toxic like keratins that have formaldehyde and [other damaging chemicals],” Kate explains. “I have some curl to my hair, so I blow it out with a round brush every day. I have gotten the Milbon treatment and it actually looks like I used a hair straightening tool afterwards because of how nice the cuticle is. There is also a take-home shampoo and conditioner that you can purchase and bring home to further your results,” she adds.
Over at Skintegrity, their GlycoAla Bio treatment is the most popular among clients. This service is a biomodulation gel developed to enhance your skin’s natural renewal process. As a needle-free treatment safe for all skin types, this process improves many dermatological concerns you may have in just a short amount of time. Whether that’s a damaged skin barrier, excess amounts of sebum, an uneven skin tone or larger pores, this treatment will specifically target those trouble areas to repair, purify, radiate and hydrate your skin.
“After one week of having the first treatment that’s done in a series of four, even from that first treatment, one week out, you see results,” Kate says. “It’s just absolutely stellar.”
ProCell Microchanneling is another go-to at Skintegrity. This smoothing treatment is effective in enhancing cellular activity to help stimulate the skin’s renewal process, and Kate’s clients have been extremely satisfied with the results.
“I’m getting so many DMs and texts from clients saying that they’re actually skipping their face makeup,” Kate exclaims. “They’re doing mascara, eye shadow and a lip, but they’re not doing foundation. Older women are saying, ‘I look so vibrant, I don’t have to put on face makeup.’ I think that’s so beautiful and so impactful. You can wear makeup when you want, but you don’t feel like you can’t leave the house without it, and there’s power behind that.”
