That commitment starts at the top with President Vera Pappas, whose very first job at age 15 was at a local garden center. She fell in love with landscaping and has basically been in the industry ever since, and now holds her team to the same expectations when it comes to customer service.
“I don’t expect everyone to be a superstar all the time, but everyone needs to work together,” she says. “We’re a big team and everyone needs to be willing to pitch in and do whatever it takes to get the job done. A strong work ethic is needed because we don’t cut corners. Our craftsmen are highly skilled and know the level of expectation set at every job. I am always pleased to stop by a job site and see the progress. Sharing updates and answering homeowner questions makes the job run smoothly.”
For more than 15 years, Marion Landscaping has been offering both residential and commercial landscaping, maintenance, hardscaping, fence installation and construction services. The company has developed a niche for designing and building custom outdoor spaces that act as an extension of the home, bringing creativity and craftsmanship to each one.

“When we sit and meet with the customer, we get a feel for what their aesthetic is by what the inside of their house looks like,” Pappas says. “We ask a lot of questions so we can give them what they want, and sometimes we have to help them figure out what they want by offering different suggestions and showing them pictures of projects we’ve done to get an idea for how they want to use the space.”
The company’s experience with a variety of reliable products at different price points helps bring the project in on budget. Pappas and other supervisors are onsite regularly to answer any questions the customer has, keep them up to date on the timeline and institute any changes to the design if requested. Unlike other companies, Marion Landscaping does not come and go on a project, either—once a job begins, the crew stays on until it is finished.
It’s no wonder that satisfied clients always sing their praises, which is one reason the schedule fills up quickly at this time of the year.
“We really develop strong working relationships with our clients, and they always give us good referrals,” Pappas says. “That’s where most of our work comes from. They’ll have a party, their friends will see it and think it’s amazing, and then they’ll call us. We really try hard to give the customer everything they want and then some.”
