Building Community While Building Muscle
At its core, Echelon’s philosophy is simple: consistency beats intensity.
Starting a fitness journey can feel overwhelming. Between conflicting advice, busy schedules, and lack of structure, most people don’t fail because they aren’t motivated—they fail because they don’t have a system.
That’s where Echelon Health & Fitness separates itself.
Over the past decade, Echelon has built one of South Jersey’s most recognized fitness communities. As a locally owned, family-run business, its flagship location in Voorhees is celebrating 10 years, while its Audubon location continues to grow in its third year. Across both locations, Echelon serves a large and highly engaged membership base, creating an environment where people of all fitness levels can train, recover, and—most importantly—stay consistent.
From day one, the focus is on structure—and on the member experience.
New members are guided through a comprehensive onboarding process that includes a tour, a fitness assessment, and exposure to multiple areas of the facility—from strength training to group fitness—designed to build early momentum and long-term habits.
“We’re laser-focused on our members’ experience,” says managing partner Jeff Quinn. “We make sure every member, regardless of fitness level, has access to both training and recovery options so they can move at a pace that works for them. That’s how you create an environment where people actually stick with it.”
Both locations offer a wide range of amenities, including group fitness classes, personal training, semi-private coaching, and three dedicated studios—Mind & Body, Cycle, and HIIT—designed to deliver a variety of training experiences. Members also have access to HydroMassage lounge chairs and recovery-focused features like dry saunas, with new red light therapy being added to further enhance recovery and overall wellness. The Voorhees location also features a five-lane lap pool and whirlpool.
At the center of Echelon’s training philosophy is its Thrive program—a structured, semi-private coaching system designed for real people, not just athletes. Open to everyone from teenagers to seniors, Thrive blends accountability, programming, and coaching in a way that drives real, measurable results.
The facility itself reflects a commitment to quality, but Echelon’s approach goes far beyond equipment.
“In this industry, it’s easy to get caught up in what looks good,” Quinn says. “But we focus on what actually drives results and retention—Thrive coaching, group fitness, integrated recovery, and MemberPERX, where members save just for being a member. If you’re not training with purpose and recovering properly, consistency doesn’t last.”
That philosophy is woven into every part of the member experience. Rather than relying on short-term motivation, Echelon emphasizes structure, accountability, and added value—giving members multiple reasons to stay engaged both inside and outside the gym.
That consistency is the real goal.
Echelon’s model focuses on turning initial motivation into long-term habits through a combination of structured onboarding, personalized coaching, and recovery integration. Instead of chasing quick results, members build routines that are realistic, sustainable, and effective.
Beyond fitness, Echelon has built a strong connection to the local community through its MemberPERX program. The initiative partners with hundreds of local businesses, offering exclusive discounts while helping drive customers back to those businesses.
Last year alone, the program was used more than 30,000 times, generating nearly $94,000 in savings across categories like dining, retail, and services—simply for being a member.
Echelon also continues to give back through its Heroes Program, providing complimentary memberships to first responders, teachers, nurses, and military personnel. The initiative reflects the company’s broader mission to support those who serve the community every day.
“We’re always looking for ways to give back,” Quinn says. “We want to take care of the people who take care of everyone else.”
At its core, Echelon’s philosophy is simple: consistency beats intensity.
“If someone commits to showing up, follows a structured plan, and takes advantage of recovery, everything changes,” Quinn says. “Momentum builds confidence. Confidence builds habits. And habits drive long-term results. The people who succeed aren’t the ones who go all out for a week—they’re the ones who show up and stay consistent.”
