A Revolution for Neurological and Psychiatric Care
Bromley Brain & Mind Institute is overcoming medical insurance company limitations to deliver life-changing treatment to patients in need.

The new Bromley Brain & Mind Institute is helping to revolutionize neurologic and psychiatric care and redefine access.

Since 2003, Dr. Steven Bromley has been in some form of private practice, but maintaining excellent relationships with surrounding hospital systems throughout southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.

His practice has expanded over the years, treating over 10,000 patients with five providers in three locations across the state. Recent additions include a psychiatrist and an integrative/ functional medicine specialist.

The Institute is a multidisciplinary practice specializing in neurological and psychiatric care, and unites state-of-the-art standard therapies with integrative/functional medicine in a single, patient-centered model. The practice is already well known for providing progressive IV biological therapies to treat conditions like Alzheimer’s, dementia, migraines, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and neuropathies. Now, it also provides the newest psychiatric therapies, including interventional approaches like transcranial magnetic simulation and ketamine.

Despite this expansion and these medical advancements in its office, Dr. Bromley also acknowledges that “the modern practice of medicine is failing patients—not because of a lack of awesome clinicians—but because of financial pressures placed on them primarily by corrupted medical insurance companies.”

But Dr. Bromley refuses to give up ownership and control of his practice to outside entities like expanding hospital systems, private equity groups or cash-based concierge memberships because of these financial stressors.

“With the help of an incredible team, I am kicking the medical insurance companies out of our exam rooms and stopping them from blocking the best care,” he says. “To do this, we needed to find alternative funding sources, like financial assistance programs with pharma companies, enrolling patients in research protocols, and charitable care.

“We have now established the Bromley Charitable Care Foundation to offset unreasonable costs that start with unethical insurance company behaviors, including increased premiums, higher co-pays, larger deductibles and forced balance billing. We are challenging the trend of patients having to pay more and more money for less and less care. Patients do not need to spend more money for innovative cutting-edge care.”

The office continues to take Medicare, and aggressively helps patients get reimbursed with “out-of-network” benefits.

For medical problems affecting the brain and mind, Bromley Brain & Mind Institute is not only revolutionizing care, but redefining access to that same care. Rather than “dumbing down” the practice of medicine by doing only what is financially “authorized” by inherently biased insurance companies, the practice is expanding its services to include the kinds of integrative care you only see in costly “wellness” centers. By finding additional funding sources, it is also doing this without additional cost to patients.

“Our purpose is to expand not only what we do, but how we do it—all with the sole purpose to help a patient live their best life,” Dr. Bromley says.
