South Jersey Magazine spoke with Nesevich about the importance of planning early, his professional experience, and his top tips for protecting your assets and your family for generations to come.

How has your career evolved over the course of your experience?
“I graduated from law school in 2010 and opened my own firm in 2017, so we have been at this for 15 years now. It has been interesting going from being one person with a desk and a phone trying to figure things out, to leading an estate firm with two other attorneys and a staff of 13 people. It has definitely been a wonderful learning curve and experience, and we are thrilled with the amount of work we are able to deliver to our clients. My favorite thing to hear in a meeting is when clients tell me what a wonderful experience they had with our staff during their engagement.”

How did you decide to share your expertise with others as a speaker and author?
I have always been a speaker, even during my time in financial services. When I started my practice, I knew that speaking would be one of the best ways to build a practice. I love doing it, and we plan to do even more in 2026.

The great thing about estate planning is that it gives you the opportunity to educate the public. Through education, whether someone hires you or not, you can make their lives better. Ideally, that education also helps people recognize the value of what you do, and they may then seek your help to address their estate planning needs. We are constantly being approached by organizations asking about co-sponsoring events and having me speak to their audiences. It is something I truly enjoy.”

What's the Number 1 piece of advice you give clients and their families?
“The best time to do estate planning is now. We have people who delay and delay and delay, and then suddenly reach out to us when it becomes an emergency. Doing estate planning in an emergency is never a great way to do estate planning. You have fewer tools at your disposal, and it is an uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. The best time to do estate planning is when everything is going well, and you have the ability to put together the plan you truly want.”

What does the process of helping families look like from consultation to completion?
“Usually, it takes somewhere between four and six weeks for the entire process from beginning to end. We always start with a consultation where we get to know the client, and the client gets to know us, to ensure it is a good fit and that everyone wants to work together. Assuming we are hired, we draft the appropriate documents to ensure that their wishes are met during their lives and after they are gone. We then schedule time to review those documents with them, make sure they understand them, and confirm they are comfortable before signing.”

What are you particularly proud of within your work and accomplishments?
“We have operated the practice for eight years, with myself and two other attorneys. I am incredibly proud of two things. The first is that we are approaching 600 five-star Google reviews. The second is our charitable giving. Each time a client completes their estate plan and we conduct a signing, we ask them to select one of our Nesevich Law Cares local charities. Each month, we make donations to those organizations. Over the past three years, we have contributed approximately $25,000.”
