Wair Studio Salon
A Vision Realized by Hope Doms

by Staff

For Hope Doms, owner of Wair Studio Salon in Marlton, there wasn’t a single defining moment when she knew she would open her own salon. Instead, it was the result of years of experiences that shaped her journey.

“Early in my career, I explored opportunities in the beauty industry across the country,” Doms says. “When the right space became available, I had the experience, a loyal client base and a clear vision. The stars aligned—I was ready.”

Building a business is not for the faint of heart. Doms credits many people along the way for playing a role in her success. “Whether people are in your life for a short time or the long haul, they help mold and build you,” she explains. “There’s always something to learn from every situation—positive or negative. Growth starts with being self-aware and staying open to learning.”

Doms originally envisioned a small, boutique-style salon with just a few stylists. But over time, her philosophy evolved: “If you build it, they will come.”

In recent years she expanded to a larger location, tripling the salon in both square footage and team members. “I believe in manifestation,” she says. “I put it out into the universe—a bigger vision, more stylists, a larger space—and it worked.”

The Culture That Sets Wair Apart

One of the standout features of Wair Studio is its welcoming, family-like atmosphere.

“When you walk in, you’ll never feel intimidated,” Doms says. “We’re genuinely friendly. The vibe is warm and supportive.” This non-competitive culture even extends to client relationships. Stylists at Wair share clients, creating a collaborative environment that benefits both the team and the clients. “It speaks to the unity of our salon and offers convenience to our clients—it’s a win-win,” she adds.

Wair’s team stays on the cutting edge of trends in hair and skincare. “We attend hair shows, host in-salon education and stay tuned into social media and celebrity fashion,” Doms says. “We pay attention to what our clients want.”

One of Wair’s signature services is the Calligraphy Haircut—a specialized technique that cuts each strand at a precise angle. The result? Fuller, lighter and healthier-looking hair with natural movement.

“Very few stylists in South Jersey—or even the country—are trained in this technique,” Doms notes.

Another growing favorite is Scalp Rejuvenation. This treatment uses infrared light and steam, offering exfoliation, relaxation and relief for conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

“It’s like a facial for your scalp,” Doms explains. “We often help clients who have felt embarrassed elsewhere. We reassure them—they’re not alone, and we’re here to help.”

Doms is a firm believer in organic, chemical-free beauty. “Many people eat organic but don’t think about the chemicals they put on their skin or scalp,” she says. “At Wair, we only use organic products that support healthy hair and skin.”

Creating Experiences: Prom Parties & Skin Solutions

Always evolving, Wair recently introduced Prom Parties—a full beauty experience for teens. “Girls come in together to get their hair and makeup done, enjoy giveaways, take fun photos and yes—there’s glitter,” Doms says with a laugh. “It’s a magical way to start prom night.”

Additionally, Wair now offers Face Reality, a results-driven program for acne and rosacea. “It’s more than a treatment—it’s a lifestyle,” Doms explains. “It includes healthy eating, biweekly check-ins, progress photos and personalized care. Clients often see visible improvements after just two treatments.”

A Salon That Feels Like Family

For those looking for a hair salon that feels more like home than a business, Wair Studio is the place. Doms believes that true success comes from cultivating a team that loves where they work.

“That energy resonates from our staff to our clients,” she says. “Knowing that the people here are happy—that means everything to me.”

For Doms, inspiration is a key part of her mission. “I tell people: If you want something badly enough, you’ll make it happen. What kind of businesswoman would I be if I couldn’t inspire others to chase the best version of themselves?”
