Step 1: Round up the troops. Over 300 student volunteers … check. The entire faculty … check. Every varsity coach … check. All administrators and staff … check. Our school chaplain … check. Every single one of these people is waiting to show, share and help you learn about what makes Paul VI High School so special. Be sure to come with questions!
Step 2: Delegate, delegate, delegate. Experiments from the science department, performances from the arts, snacks from the dining hall, not one but two stations from the robotics program, plus an ongoing ping pong competition that includes our favorite priest—the Paul VI open house is an exercise in teamwork, planning and a healthy dose of school pride. The same qualities that make the open house a great event make Paul VI a great education.
Step 3: Polish everything until it shines. Whether it’s the floors or the presentations and performances, Paul VI takes having company seriously. Event prep is just an extension of a school culture that values hard work, creativity and a genuine appreciation of the time our guests have set aside to spend with us.
Step 4: Deck the halls … with signage that lets you easily navigate our beloved, albeit quirky, floor plan. There are programs, maps and dozens of smiling student ambassadors waiting at every corner to help you find your way to that forensic crime scene demo you won’t want to miss.
Step 5: Set the table(s) … one for each sport, each club, each academic department, plus a few for spirit wear, alumni, parents and lots of tables in the dining hall for snacks. Think of it as a buffet of Paul VI programs, and we encourage you to “pull up a chair” at as many tables as you like.
Step 6: Don’t forget to choose a great ‘fit. Actually, in a school with uniforms, this one kind of takes care of itself. On a busy night when it helps to be able to spot the people who are there to help, we think you’ll agree that blazers and sweaters, khakis and kilts are a good look!
