Top Chef
After winning this year’s tightly contested 2012 Top Chef competition, chef Timothy Eliason (pictured) of Braddock’s in Medford also took home the Readers’ Choice award last month. Braddock’s earned the readers’ vote in an online contest following his head-to-head cook-off at the Burlington County College Culinary Arts Center in November; he had 182 votes in the finals and just under 3,500 during the entire competition. Congratulations again to all the competitors who sharpened their knives with us this season.

Fast Food
Culinary news to chew on
•Rodizio Grill recently opened at Voorhees Town Center’s restaurant row. The 5,900-square-foot Brazillian steakhouse features rotisserie grilled meats, carved tableside by Brazilian gauchos, plus a smorgasbord of apps, salads, desserts and made-to-order limeades.
•Italyani Food & Wine Brooklyn Style, the newest concept by Aldo Lamberti’s, opened its doors in Lumberton recently, replacing the former Lamberti’s Milano Modo. Italian fare is the game here, with a special prix-fixe menu for two that includes a bottle of wine.
•Top Notch, a self-described “modern American bistro,” opened in mid-December along Medford’s Main Street. The BYOB, opened by former pro golfer Ryan Jordan, features wood-fired pizzas (we're excited about the “soft pretzel pizza”) and comfort foods for lunch and dinner.

Imbibe
This month’s cocktail is just right to warm you up this winter. A twist on the classic 1920s drink, the Black Tea Gimlet at PF Chang’s muddles Absolut Wild Tea Vodka and St. Germain Liqueur with fresh sage and lime juice.
