Mercy Makes the Difference
Exciting things are taking shape at Gwynedd Mercy University

by Staff

At Gwynedd Mercy University, you’ll see and be seen, hear and be heard, know and be known. That’s because GMercyU is large enough to offer the academic, athletic and real-world learning you’re looking for, but small enough that professors know you by name.

Everything GMercyU does is inspired by its Mercy mission and core values of integrity, respect, service and social justice. These values are integrated into every one of its 40-plus undergraduate majors and minors, so that all graduates are ready to do well and do good as professionals and global citizens.

Here, you will find a caring and supportive environment with a deep commitment to making a difference—for yourself and for others.

Next Chapter of Healthcare Education: Where Mercy Meets Innovation

Opening this fall, the Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) will prepare students to address the health care needs of today and tomorrow, with the goal of improving access and equity for all.

In the new 63,000-square-foot building, healthcare majors will collaborate with social work, psychology, computer information science and students in many other majors as they learn to advocate for the “whole” patient.

Features of the Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center include:

•           Nine skills labs and 15 state-of-the-art simulation rooms
•           The Windmill Foundation Nurses’ Station
•           Three exam rooms (maternity, patient care, pediatric)
•           Home care/studio apartment settings
•           Simulation manikins with interchangeable parts and accessories to create a variety of simulated patients with various skin tones
•           Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Teaching (VERT) simulated radiation therapy system
