In business for more than 70 years, COIT Cleaning & Restoration is an industry leader in helping to keep your home clean and safe. Of the many services offered by COIT, they specialize in air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning and mold remediation.
Air Duct Cleaning
Most people don’t realize what can lurk in the air ducts of their home’s HVAC system. Potential harmful bacteria, dust mites, pet dander, skin dander, pollen, lint, mold and many other contaminants can affect the air quality of your home. As the hot weather approaches and we turn on our air conditioners, we want to ensure the air quality is clean and healthy.
That’s where the experienced team at COIT comes in. COIT is a member of NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association), which is an important distinction because it shows they follow the strict standards to ensure your home’s air ducts are cleaned properly.
“Over time there is a build-up of contaminants in your air ducts and you really need to have them professionally cleaned every two to three years to maintain the clean air you should be breathing in,” says Lori Topiel, co-owner of COIT Cleaning & Restor-ation.
Proper cleaning of air ducts can help reduce symptoms of asthma, allergies, headaches and other respiratory conditions.
“Remember, the air in your home flows through your air ducts and comes through the vents in all the rooms of your home, so if they are filled with pollen, pet dander or mold you’re breathing this in all day, every day,” Topiel adds. Allergy sufferers can really be adversely affected by poor indoor air quality blowing through your home’s vents.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
In the United States, more than 15,000 home fires each year are caused by clothes dryers. “About a half pound of lint is removed from at typical home’s dryer vent after a cleaning is completed,” Topiel says. Cleaning out the lint tray is not enough to prevent a possible dryer fire. Lint can ignite quickly. COIT recommends a professional dryer vent cleaning every two years.
According to Topiel, signs to look for that your dryer vent is clogged are: your clothes are taking too long to dry, clothes are falling out of the dryer when you open the door, if the exterior vent is barely open and especially if there is lint hanging out of the vent. Dryer vent cleaning is an easy process and definitely gives you peace of mind.
Mold Remediation
We’ve seen it in one form or another in several colors from orange, green to purple to slimy black spots. Most of us know that mold grows in places where there is moisture present—leaky roofs, windows, pipes or if you’ve had a flood.
COIT has been on the side of home and business owners in South Jersey in the fight against mold for many years.
“We step in and identify the areas of your home or business affected with mold and come up with a customized, detailed plan of action to decontaminate,” Topiel says.
In the case of a flood or where moisture is constantly present, COIT’s trained technicians create a drying plan to safely reduce moisture to their predetermined levels. “We pride ourselves on restoring properties back to normal conditions,” Topiel says. If necessary, COIT will do a complete cleaning and sanitization of the air duct system.
With proven experience and longevity, COIT Cleaning & Restoration truly is the only company in our region to trust to help you keep a clean, safe home and have you and your family breathing good, quality indoor air all year round.
