Going Out in Style

by Peter Proko
What an exciting year it’s been here for us at the magazine. In the past 12 months we’ve introduced lots of new content and produced a slew of interesting and in-depth stories that shine a light on South Jersey in ways you don’t find elsewhere. We saw the likes of Will Smith, Carson Wentz, Kirsten Dunst, Kristin Chenoweth, Gordon Ramsay and more grace our cover. Famed artist Peter Max once again reached out to us to create an original design to showcase our Best of the Shore issue. We’ve talked with both notable celebrities as well as difference-making locals.

It’s been a whirlwind, but rather than stop to catch our breath, we figured it best to end 2016 in spectacular fashion; quite literally. This month we had the amazing opportunity to partner with the local television news stations to have some of the top anchors step out of their daily routine and pose as models for our winter fashion spread. These four beautiful women are certainly comfortable in front of the camera, but one look at these pictures and it’s a wonder if they could have pursued an alternative career path.

And not to be overshadowed by their stunning images, this month we were also fortunate to be able to connect with actor Richard Gere. Born just across the bridge in Philadelphia, Gere has long been one of Hollywood’s leading men, but it’s his commitment to family and his civic-minded beliefs that make him a star in our eyes.

What’s more, everyone’s favorite lifestyle guru Martha Stewart stops by to give you her tips on how to be the perfect holiday host, from what to serve your guests to how to decorate in a fun and festive manner. We also reveal this year’s Awesome Attorneys list which includes hundreds of local legal experts nominated by our readers for their outstanding track record of delivering their clients results. KYW film critic Bill Wine tells us which films are poised for big numbers at the holiday box office, we examine the rising cost of quality child care for working parents, and find out how the recent boom of craft breweries is transforming some of our communities.

As you gather with family and friends this time of year, we hope that you embrace and enjoy the holiday season. It’s been a pleasure delivering this magazine to you each month and we look forward to reconnecting with you in the new year. Things are shaping up to be even better in 2017 and we can’t wait.

Kind regards,
Peter J. Proko
