I was absolutely thrilled when I saw Jonathan Papelbon on your cover [“The Closer,” Volume 9, Issue 1] of the April issue. As a baseball fan, I have always admired his game. As a Phillies fan, I’m glad he’s on our team now. I can only hope his competitive nature will rub off on the rest of the roster after their sluggish start.

I am writing in response to Brian Freedman’s review of Steak 38 Café [Volume 8, Issue 9]. We have taken your criticism to heart; you were 100 percent right on a few points. We now cook our seafood combination in stages as opposed to putting everything in the oven at the same time, we now cook fresh vegetables every day and our wine by the glass list has been updated with six upscale wines that are in the top 100 in the world. I want to thank you for your article, as we’ve made some positive changes that we felt were necessary to get the kinks ironed out.
