Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill banning smoking cigarettes, cigars and vaping from all New Jersey public parks and beaches.
 
Through the Community College Innovation Challenge, qualifying students can apply for Community College Opportunity Grants to have remaining college tuition costs covered starting in the spring.
 
The largest private donation of $250,000 was made to the Animal Welfare Association to construct a new, modern animal shelter at its current location in Voorhees.
 
A sculpture from the 1930s went missing from an apartment at the Barclay Towers in Cherry Hill, sparking the FBI to assist in the search.
 
A hostage situation occurred at a UPS facility in Logan Township lasting several hours and ended in the gunman being fatally shot.
 
A man was charged following a car accident last year that killed his 9-year-old daughter. He was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
