Fall For Fashion

by Josephine Cusumano
The first day of autumn is Sept. 22, but here at South Jersey Magazine, we like to start fall a little early. With the impending cool, crisp air calling for cozy sweaters, boots and everything warm, here’s a few fashion necessities you’ll want to snag now before it gets too cold.

1.) Suede Me Not
There’s no need to dust off last season’s fall bag when Erdon is serving up the bag envy in the season’s go-to fabric: suede. The Moorestown Mall retailer carries Jerome Dreyfuss's Maurice tote, which is dressed in a navy, split-suede fabric and comes with an optional crossbody strap. The tote is large in size for the work day, but sleek enough to carry right into happy hour.
$900 at Erdon, 400 Route 38, Moorestown, (856) 914-0300, Erdon.co

2.) Wrapped Up
Father Time would approve this fashion-forward watch, simply because of its timeless look. Michael Kors gives the classic watch a rich twist using a double wraparound leather buckled bracelet, matched with a gold tone, stainless steel round watch timepiece.
$195 with limited avilability at Michael Kors, 1750 Deptford Center Road, Deptford, (856) 994-9064, MichaelKors.com

3.) A Little Flare
Give your jeans a little “flare” with Hudson Jeans’ Natasha fit. The black, regular rise jeans are outfitted with a dramatic flared silhouette, giving the illusion of long, lean legs, while a braided leather and suede trim along the side seam accentuates the jean’s classic style.
$285 at Tehen, 2076 Route 70 E., Cherry Hill, (888) 448-8311, LeeNewman.com

4.) Draped For Wear
This season is all about the return of the poncho, and the Loft’s striped poncho sweater is the perfect option if you’re looking to try the trend. Crafted using a mix of wool and cotton, the fit is almost akin to a sweater with a boat neck, while featuring a loose sleeve cut, leaving the sides open and draped.
$89.50 at Loft, 611 Berlin Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville, (856) 262-7894, Loft.com

5.) Silk Touch
A fall wardrobe is in want of a silk scarf, and this Johnny Was piece is just what any closet needs. The florals lend themselves to the vintage aesthetic, while woven tassels along the scarf edges give it a modern flair. The Jardin square scarf sizes up to 42-inches of pure silk beauty.
$138 or similar styles available at Anthropologie, 500 Route 73 S., Marlton, (856) 596-4507, Anthropologie.com

6.) Boot-tiful
Kick off the season with a stacked heel, as seen with the Sam Edelman Reyes Bootie. The boots are sleek in a soft leather (pictured here in rust red), complete with a rounded toe and a side-zip closure for an easy slip-on on those cool, fall days.
$175 available in additional colors at Nordstrom, 2000 Route 38, Cherry Hill, (856) 773-5600, Nordstrom.com

7.) Chain Accent
Accessorize your look with John Hardy’s new line, the Modern Chain Collection. It gives a fresh spin on traditional chain jewelry using a sleeker, flat woven chain handmade in Bali, as seen here in the women’s silver rectangular necklace. It sits flat and comfortably along the neckline and ties together with a pusher clasp.
$1,895 at Jay Roberts Jewelers, 515 Route 73 S., Marlton, (856) 596-8600, JayRobertsJewelers.com
